“Hello! We’re sideCHAIN, a jazz duo passionate about jazz and exploring its boundaries. We’re excited to announce our first ticketed show, sideCHAIN Plus: When Video Games Meet Jazz, happening on 20 January, 2026 at the Fringe Festival, Hong Kong.

Join us for our latest project, where we reimagine iconic video game music through the lens of jazz. Featuring music from Mario, Undertale, Persona 5, Wii, and more, this show brings together the two of us alongside other talented jazz musicians for a night of playful nostalgia and fresh improvisation. Hope to see you there!”

From performers and composers to educators and arts innovators, our Creators represent the next generation of classical musicians who are learning, showcasing, and connecting through the KALOS pathway.

Explore their profiles, stories, and projects — each one a step toward building a meaningful and sustainable career in music.

Kristen Kong (Piano)

Kristen Kong Wai Kio, born in Macau, is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Music degree at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts under the tutelage of Professor Eleanor Wong. Her passion for music began at an early age, and she studied piano with Steinway Young Artist Vincci Chan and Steinway Honorary Teacher Suyi Chan.

Kelsey Ho (Flute)

Kelsey Ho Yee Kiu is currently in her third year of the Bachelor of Arts in Music program at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, majoring in flute performance under the tutelage of Ms. Megan Sterling. She has attained the LTCL diploma in Flute Performance from Trinity College London, and has further enriched her musical artistry under the guidance of renowned flautists such as Wissam Boustany, Ian Clarke, and Michael Cox.

Lee Kwok Lui Alice is an undergraduate student at the Music Department of CUHK, majoring in piano performance under the tutelage of Dr. Mary Wu.

Our Mentor Creators

Behind every great musician is someone who’s walked the path before.
Our international network of Mentor Creators includes accomplished performers, educators, and cultural leaders who offer one-on-one mentorship, portfolio assessments, and practical guidance.

Their support helps young musicians connect artistic ambition with professional direction, transforming potential into purpose.

Aster Lai - Know our mentor creator

Pianist Aster Lai was born and raised in Hong Kong. She studied at the Vienna Conservatory in Austria before making her home in Toronto, Canada in 1977. Since then Aster has established a name for herself, not only as child pedagogue specialist but as a passionate and inspiring teacher who cares for each of her students and their families like her own.

Erasmus Baumgartner - Know our mentor creator

Austrian-born Erasmus Baumgartner began his musical education with the St. Florian Boys’ Choir (St. Florianer Sängerknaben) near Linz in Upper Austria. At the age of seventeen he went on to study voice at the Anton Bruckner Private University, where he specialised in choir and ensemble direction.

Berthine van Schoor - Know our mentor creator

Berthine van Schoor is a graduate of the University of Stellenbosch and the Mozarteum University in Salzburg, Austria. She has performed extensively in Europe, Japan and India as a soloist, chamber musician and as a member of several orchestras and was the principal cellist in the Philharmonic Orchestra in Bad Reichenhall, Germany.
