Peter Bortfeldt actively performs as a pianist, conductor, chamber musician and Lied accompanist, regularly appearing as a guest with orchestras and at festivals on four continents.

He was director of studies and conductor of the Aachen Opera and is a lecturer at the Cologne and Frankfurt universities of music, and he is now especially committed as a musician and teacher to the Lied repertoire.

Together with tenor Josef Protschka, he has taught masterclasses for German song in China and Germany, and gives recitals all over the world with his wife, soprano Lisa Graf.

Peter has also given many world premieres of piano and chamber music, including works dedicated to him by contemporary composers.
