 Maddalena Del Gobbo first came across the viola da gamba when she entered a record shop in the heart of Vienna and was mesmerised by an enchanting sound that she would never forget. On completing her studies as a cellist, she received a MA and performed in many concert halls as a soloist and chamber musician. Though during this time, she never forgot the viola da gamba.

She secretly honed her skills until deciding one day to make the early instrument her focal point and dedicate her life to baroque music.
