Chai Young (Piano)

A graduate of HKBU Academy of Music, Chai Young is a pianist musically influenced by Jazz, Japanese Fusion music, and Video Game soundtracks. He performs at various occasions and venues along with musicians of different backgrounds in a range of ensemble sizes, where he can adapt to different performance setups and demands on the spot.

Chai is the pianist for the dynamic duo sideCHAIN, who also plays keyboard for bands such as THE FLOWTERS and The Solution Band, covering genres like International and Canto Pop, Jazz, and R&B. He continues to develop his artistic voice by collaborating with different artists, and continuously explores his unique identity with his dual expertise in Piano and composition. He focuses on delivering expressions playfully on the Piano, radiating his childlike passion to music with precision and finesse.

Recently, Chai has ventured into Cantopop, contributing to Jason Chan’s album “LIFE IS HARD” and collaborating on Jayson Chan’s “Shutter Mural,” both available on streaming platforms. Additionally, he has composed music for TV advertisements, including NOWTV’s FIFA World Cup theme, and for brands like Essential, TEMPO, Bosch, Dettol, Garden, and Campbell’s Soup.
